For all you red Burgundy lovers, this is a wonderful expression of wine from one of the lesser-known spots in Burgundy. Labelled ‘Coteaux Bourguignons’, this isn’t your pure bred Pinot Noir… instead, we have a 50/50 blend of Pinot and Gamay (the grape variety that makes Beaujolais), which brings an exciting edge to the bottle.
This wine has a full red cherry character but with some richer, darker fruits like plum and blueberries coming through. Extremely fruit forward yet balanced with a touch of earthiness, making this wine nicely complex and interesting.
